Make sure you are building a package that you and/or colleagues will be able to maintain. Make it efficient and convenient to use. Your documentation should be clear, so others can easily follow your directions.

Store your development code in data-raw subfolder. To create it use use_data_raw() function. This folder is ignored during package build process.
